Overview

This is a follow up to our French Beginners 1 class offered in the first block and is a wonderful opportunity to learn French language skills in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Do you have previous experience of the French language and who would like to build on their knowledge? Then this course is for you!

The classes are lively and will concentrate on the four skills with a particular emphasis on speaking practice which is supplemented with up to date resources.

Further vocabulary acquisition on various topics and grammar points explained in the class. Where appropriate Cultural elements of the Country/Countries where the language is spoken will also be taught in class.

Minimum entry requirements

This course is primarily aimed at these students who attended our evening French Beginners 1 class.

However, we would welcome you if you have some basic prior knowledge of French.

What you study

You'll have the opportunity to revise and consolidate the basic skills acquired previously and study other topics in order to get by in the Country.

Topics will be agreed with the Lecturer.

How the course is taught

Various methods are applied to the four skills with an emphasis on speaking and listening.

Assessment methods

This is a College leisure course, therefore, there will not be any summative assessments; however, you'll be undertaking role plays and other formative assessments as appropriate throughout the class.

Palgrave Language book  3rd Edition.  

Alternatively, the Lecturer will advise a suitable book to study.
