Overview

Watch our Introduction Video.

The Distance Learning Programme (DLP) is for students who need to complete the MCA’s academic subjects leading to award of Certificates of Competency (CoC).

They are ideal for students of the college, who are unable to attend full-time, college based courses.

Benefits of Distance Learning:

  • Fit your learning around your work and home life.
  • Progress at your own pace.
  • It costs less than traditional learning - no travel or accommodation costs.

Although distance learning students will not have the advantage of the social interaction with the lecturer and other students in a classroom environment, you will have access to lecturers via email, telephone and Skype, and there will be online discussion forums where you can ‘chat’ to other students. In addition, a one-to-one discussion is arranged with your assigned lecturer prior to sitting your exams.

You can study any number of subjects simultaneously, however, you should take into consideration other work and family commitments.

To enrol on any of our distance learning courses you will need to complete and return the following forms to us. Each form must be completed in full and emailed to: marine@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk.

For more information see our Distance Learning Brochure.
