Overview

The PDA Childhood Practice is designed for you, if you have achieved a practitioner qualification at SCQF level 7, or equivalent and you are seeking professional development, or aspire to be a manager.

It is aimed at providing you the opportunity to advance your knowledge using underpinning theoretical principles to enhance practice in the Early Years and Childcare sector.

This course is designed with a blended approach using traditional classroom based learning supported with a range of online resources and activities through the College’s Virtual Learning site, My City.

 

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Practitioner qualification as prescribed by the SSSC e.g. HNC Early Education and Childcare, Playwork, SVQ Children’s Care, Learning and Development Level 3 or equivalent.
  • You should be working in a childcare setting or be able to undertake practice placement for the duration of the course.

On completion of this award, there is the opportunity to progress to achieve SVQ level 4 units and enhance your practice qualification. This course will also appeal if you wish to progress to the level 9 PDA Childhood Practice, or further degree level study.
