Super College Principal and Twin Campus up for Inspirational Accolades

City of Glasgow College and its Principal and Chief Executive, Paul Little are finalists in this year’s Inspiring City Awards.

Principal Little has been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution by a Business Leader and the college’s stunning new twin site super campus is competing for the coveted Legacy award.

The judges are looking for someone who inspires others through their exceptional commitment, motivation, effort and vision as well as a project which creates lasting change across Glasgow.

Principal Little said he was delighted to be shortlisted:

“This is a great honour for me personally and a double delight as our new super college also features. I have always said that our campuses are more than iconic buildings, they are inspirational learning environments which contribute both economically and architecturally to the city and beyond.”

Roy Gardner, Executive Director for Corporate Development and Innovation at City of Glasgow College said:

“Principal Little has helped reform, redefine and reposition college education not only in Glasgow but across Scotland. His drive and leadership has put City of Glasgow College on the global stage by attracting students and stakeholders from across the world.

“Also making the final in the legacy category is fantastic and follows hot on the heels of City campus being included in the final six for this year’s RIBA Stirling Prize. ‘Team City’ is delighted that both our college and Principal have been shortlisted for these awards and our fingers are well and truly crossed.”

Organised by The Herald and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, the Inspiring City Awards recognise individuals, businesses and organisations that have gone beyond the call of duty to encourage, mentor and support investment and growth in Glasgow.

The awards will be presented at a gala evening on Thursday 7 September at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow.
