Team City all set for UK Skills Show

Hopes are high for students representing City of Glasgow College at this year’s UK Skills Show National Finals.

Following rigorous skills development and training boot camps, the 17-strong team have set off for the competition finals at Birmingham’s NEC.

Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive of City of Glasgow College, said:

“Our college is once again fielding a strong team which benefits from a high level of coaching ability and experience within our WorldSkills Academy.

“As Ambassador for WorldSkills in Scotland I am looking forward to seeing our students in action, taking on the nation’s finest talent. We wish them every success as they compete in what is the UK’s largest and most prestigious skills and careers competition.”

Margaret Darroch, Head of Skills Academy & Development at the College, said:

“Our students have achieved their place at the National Finals through hard work, determination and high levels of resilience. The last few weeks of coaching and fine-tuning have helped boost confidence and skills levels. It is now over to them to let their talent shine and we wish them all the very best.”

Over 500 young people will compete during three intense days of competition, across a range of core disciplines, from Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 November at the NEC in Birmingham.
