Evening and Saturday Courses
At the City of Glasgow College we offer an extensive range of evening and weekend courses allowing you the flexibility to study around your existing commitments.
Our evening hairdressing courses are a popular route into a career in hairdressing and enable you to work towards a recognised qualification. In fact many of our night classes allow students to work towards achieving a qualification in their chosen subject.
If you are interested in gaining a new skill without the formality of working towards a qualififcation then the City of Glasgow College also offers many fun and informal evening classes. Our cookery courses are always popular and there’s a course for almost any cuisine including Chinese, Greek, Italian and Scottish.
Our range of weekend classes covers a variety of popular subjects such as photography, fashion and art classes. The specific class times vary from subject to subject but most begin at 9:30am on a Saturday.
For our full list of weekend and evening courses please see our course directory.
Individual Learning Accounts (ILA)
If you have an ILA you can use this to pay towards your evening/weekend course. If your course is eligible it will be stated in the Course overview box and you should then call the Student Information and Funding Team on 0141 566 6216 to book.
Your ILA must be set up prior to the course start date and you must have your ILA number and ILA end date available before calling to book. After the College has processed your ILA you will receive a Learning Token from ILA Scotland which should then be passed to our Finance Department. (0141 566 4152). The token has an expiry date on it and you must return it to the Finance Department before this date or you may have to pay for the course.
An individual Learning Account (ILA) is available from ILA Scotland and you could get £200 towards the cost of learning. To find out more call ILA Scotland free on 0808 100 1090 or visit the ILA Scotland website. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place, and pace and in a way to suit you. It’s for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland who have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or who are on benefits.
Fee Waiver
If you are on benefits, you may not be required to pay course fees for eligible courses, this is called a fee waiver. To check availability and book a fee waiver place telephone Student Services on 0141 566 6216. A £5 deposit will secure your place, if available, and is refunded to you when you enrol on your course . Your place will be held for 5 working days to allow you to provide proof of your eligibility. Benefits documents must be up to date within the last 3 months. More information on fee waivers is available from our Finance Department on 0141 566 4152.
Company Booking
If your employer is paying for your course please provide your employers name and address when booking. We will ask you to fax authorisation to 0141 566 6226 on company letterhead stating your details, the course you have booked, the associated course fee and confirmation of payment by your employer. Alternatively you can email finance@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk. An invoice will then be sent to your employer.

Cancellations
All classes are subject to sufficient numbers of students enrolling and can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the date on which the class is due to begin.
