What is an SVQ (Scottish Vocational Qualification)?
SVQ or Scottish Vocational Qualification courses are employment based qualifications which give you the knowledge and skills required in order to do a specific job. SQA’s act as a national standard for the industry you are in and tell employers that you are competent in a certain line of work.
SVQ’s are available at 5 difficulty levels and as such there is an SQA suitable everyone, from new employees who have a lot to learn to employees who want to qualify their years of experience with formal qualifications. SVQ’s are also a great way to help you progress throughout your career.
At the City of Glasgow College we offer SQV courses across a number of industries including hairdressing and supply chain management. For a comprehensive list of our SVQ courses please see our course directory.
