This is a practice-based degree, where you'll have opportunities to explore two and three-dimensional art as well as lens-based and digital disciplines. You'll have opportunities through your studies for professional placements in the arts and for curation and self-promotion. Critical thinking and writing are also central to the course.

This course is delivered by the City of Glasgow College and validated by the University of the West of Scotland. We encourage a high level of artistic exploration and personal development in students while delivering a distinct and prestigious vocational qualification.

Additional selection requirements

You'll be invited to a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject. At the interview, you'll be asked to present a portfolio which should demonstrate developed and focused studio practice, and a sophisticated theoretical approach.

After the course


This course prepares you for a career as a practicing artist, roles in museums, galleries, studios, arts centres, public art and public sector agencies, education bodies, festivals and art fairs.
