Overview

This Honours Degree is delivered by City of Glasgow College Social Sciences department in partnership with The Open University in Scotland. This is an exciting partnership that brings together the very best in college and university education.  The College offers a new, dynamic, student centered and down to earth environment in which students can thrive and The Open University’s learning resources and student support are exemplary.

This three-year Honours Degree focuses generally on the social sciences, criminology and history.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • HNC Social Sciences (15 credits) or an HNC (15 credits) in any related area.

  • You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area.

What you study

  • Year 2 – Social Sciences and History 
  • Year 3 – Criminology and History.

After the course

Careers

As with any other Honours degree graduates can look for employment in related fields or further study at postgraduate level. Teaching

How the course is taught

A combination of blended learning and face to face classroom teaching. All modules include core study materials, such as CDs, DVDs, books and specially written texts, which you’ll receive by post when your module starts and they’re yours to keep.

All assessments are done online.

Access to a computer is essential. The college library has computers for student use. All learning materials are provided by the Open University.
