Overview

Blogging is a key skill for anyone who needs to market their product or company, improve their digital profile, launch a media career, promote a cause or campaign, or just has something to say and needs a creative outlet to say it. This course will appeal to anyone with any of these needs or anyone who wants to be more involved in the ever-developing world of digital media.

You will create and maintain your own blog as the course develops as well as taking part in a range of activities that develop blogging skills.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements but you should have basic ICT skills.

What you study

Working with industry-standard hardware and software and widely recognised blogging platforms, you will learn about the world of blogging from the beginning.

Lectures, discussion and activities will cover all aspects of blogging from the basic ICT skills required to set up, design and maintain a blog, through to techniques in writing for digital media, to how to promote and potentially monetise your blog.

After the course

Careers

At the completion of this course, you would have your own blog site which you could continue to maintain at your discretion, or may choose to apply the skills and knowledge to other blogging projects.

Completing this course could help you progress to a range of study options at City of Glasgow College, such as NC Media, HNC Creative Industries Media & Communication, HNC Professional Writing Skills.
