Overview

Successful completion of the CIM Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing (SCQF Level 7) will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to support decision making within a digital context at an operational level and carry out an essential and successful professional marketing role within the workplace.  

The CIM Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing is aimed at aspiring professional digital marketers who want to gain knowledge and skills to succeed and progress within a career in digital marketing.

Typical job titles of those who study our qualifications include digital marketing executive, digital and social media executive, content marketing executive and display advertising executive. 

Start Dates

You can study for the full award (three units) which would take 36 weeks to complete or you can study individual units which will take 12 weeks each to complete.  We have three start dates for this course:-

If you want to complete the full award but start at later date (30th November or 15th March) you are required to apply for the individual unit. Once you have been accepted onto the individual unit with the starting date of your choice we will attach you to the remaining 2 units for the complete award.

Cost

This course is made up of 3 units, which cost £575 each, therefore, the total cost is £1,725. The membership and examination fees are separate and payable directly to the CIM and are the responsibility of the individual.

Applied Marketing The Awarding Body at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has commended City of Glasgow College for the excellent standard of results achieved for assessments submitted in the July 2021 assessments session for the Applied Marketing module of the Certificate in Professional Marketing. 

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

One or more of the following is required to gain entry onto this qualification:

  • CIM Level 3 Introductory Certificate in Marketing qualification or CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Marketing or CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing or CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.
  • Any UK Degree or International equivalent.
  • International Baccalaureate (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above).

Additional selection requirements

  • Professional practice (suggested one year in a marketing role)
  • If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of achieving one of the following English Language qualifications within the last two years:
    • IELTS Academic Module with overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above). 
    • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above.
    • CIM will consider other equivalent alternatives.

Continuing Study

Successful achievement of the CIM Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing (SCQF level 7) or CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing will allow progression onto the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing (SCQF level 8) and CIM Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing (SCQF level 8).

Blended Learning, virtual classrooms with online digital support.

Assessment methods

A mixture of exam and assignments based on a given theme and an organisation of your choice. Employer-driven, practitioner-based, relevant and appropriate for business needs. Three assessment sessions per year taking place in December, April and June/July.
