Overview

The course provides senior buyers, contract and supply chain managers with the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfill objectives. It gives you the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.

This blended learning course includes a variety of teaching modules, tuition, and course materials. 

There will also be CIPS revision papers which will reflect the new syllabus introduced in 2018.

Cost

The total cost of the qualification is £1620* (this excludes exam fees which are payable to the college on a per exam basis).

Minimum entry requirements

  • You will need to have achieved the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent. If in doubt, please check with CIPS.
  • CIPS membership is also required and this is payable to CIPS.  You can find out about membership here.

Your CIPS membership is paid directly to CIPS. 

Teaching

How the course is taught

The course is taught as a blended learning approach where you will attend college for 20 half-day workshops. In-between you will receive tutor support via our online virtual learning environment where you will also be given access to a variety of learning support materials such as presentations, podcasts, exam practice papers and case studies. 

Advanced Diploma classes are taught on Wednesdays and you will be expected to attend 20 half-day (4 hour) sessions. 

Assessment methods

Assessments are held at City of Glasgow College and we follow the CIPS exam diet.
