Overview
This course is suited to those who have previous experience in painting and decorating and would like to further develop their skills. On this course, you will cover a variety of sought-after industry requirements from preparing a variety of surfaces for decoration to producing decorative finishes.
This course runs for 6 months from January - June.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Diploma in Painting and Decorating at SCQF Level 5.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- City and Guilds Diploma in Painting and Decorating at SCQF Level 4 or equivalent; OR
- One National 4 qualification preferably in English, Mathematics or a Science subject; OR
- Relevant industrial experience.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.What you study

- Preparing surfaces for decoration.
- Applying paint systems by brush and roller.
- Applying foundation and plain papers.
- Producing specialist decorative finishes.
- Applying and creating colour.

You can also develop your skills in communication, numeracy and ICT.
