Overview
This course provides you with an introduction to the Construction Industry. During this course, you'll be taught by staff with significant Construction Industry experience where you'll gain experience and knowledge in a variety of construction trades including bricklaying and plastering.
On successful completion of this course, you'll receive an Extended Certificate in Construction Skills at SCQF level 3.

Additional selection requirements
- You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area. Where COVID restrictions are in place we will invite you to either a video meeting, telephone conference call or make an offer based on your application form.
ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.What you study
You'll learn a range of hand skills and practical tasks in the following trade areas:
- Bricklaying.
- Carpentry and Joinery.
- Plastering.
- Wall and Floor Tiling.
You'll also have the opportunity to develop skills in communication, numeracy and ICT.
