Overview

Are you a beginner and want to learn the basics? The college certificate in book-keeping can help you stand out when applying for jobs introducing you to the basic theory, principles, and practice of book-keeping.

You'll be taught by staff with a wealth of experience in book-keeping learning the basics of preparing business documents and posting of ledger accounts.

You don’t need any formal qualifications or experience for this course.

What you study

  • Preparation of Business Documents.
  • Completion of Books of Prime Entry.
  • Posting of Ledger Accounts.

After the course

Careers

Successful students have, in the past, gone on to complete one of our Accounting courses and gained employment as an accountant. Our students have also been recognised by Glasgow's International Financial Services District (IFSD) for achieving top marks in their studies. With experience and training, you could become an accounting technician and take on more complex work.

Continuing Study

After successful completion of the College Certificate in Book-keeping, you can apply for the College Certificate in Financial Accounting and then the College Certificate in Computerised Accounting. You can apply for one of the Accounting PDAs or the HNC Accounting after successful completion of the three college certificates.
