Overview

On this course, you'll study the skills needed to become a qualified beauty therapist including current treatments and techniques. You'll also gain experience in using a wide range of products while learning the skills necessary to secure employment within the beauty industry.

Please Note:

  • The cost shown is for year one of the course only.
  • This is a 2 year course and you'll have to apply for the second year after successful completion of the first year. 
  • You'll be required to attend college on a Monday and Tuesday evening for two academic years.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • If English isn’t your first language you’ll need to provide evidence that you’ve achieved ESOL Intermediate Level 2 (or equivalent).
  • No set formal entry requirements as we will consider a range of qualifications and life experiences which we will discuss at your interview.

What you study

Year 1 - Anatomy & Physiology, Body Massage & Facial Therapies

Year 2 - Face & Body Electrotherapy, Face & Body Treatment Packages, Professional Salon Skills, Graded Unit 1

Year 2 of this course follows on from first-year HNC and is only open to those who have achieved the first year of the part-time HNC Beauty Therapy.

This course is for those who want to acheive a HNC group award in Beauty Therapy through part time study. It is based on face and body units and does not include make up or nail units.

After the course

Careers

After completing the course you may progress to running your own salon or employment in salons, spas, cruise ships or with skincare companies.

You'll wear a college uniform and purchase a beauty kit. Details regarding this are given at interview.
