Overview

This HNC Mechanical Engineering course is open only to women. You'll learn the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a career in mechanical engineering – an area where women are under-represented.

If you want to work in one of the most diverse forms of Engineering, this course is for you. During practical sessions, you have use of our engineering workshop - fully equipped with pneumatic and hydraulic labs as well as CAD software running in our computer labs.

We can offer you a suitable mentor during the course through our partnership with Equate.  (Discover how Equate are making a positive difference for women in science engineering, technology and the built environment here).

Successful students have gone on to work in a range of engineering positions, from Engineering Technician to Mechanical Engineer. On successful completion of the course, you also have the opportunity to continue study at HND or Degree level.

Use Interconnect to join like-minded women studying science, engineering, technology and built environment at Scotland’s Colleges and Universities.

The course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 7. For more information on the framework visit: www.scqf.org.uk/the-framework/.
