Overview

This course will provide you with the values, skills and knowledge you need to work effectively in a range of care settings. You will focus on the values that underpin work in social care settings, National Care Standards and the Scottish Social Services Council codes of practice and how it informs your practice. You will develop the skills required to work with a range of service users, preparing for employment in a care setting.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Two Highers at Grade C or above in subjects such as English, History, Modern Studies, Care, Geography or a Language; OR
  • NPA Health & Social Care: Children & Young People plus 1 Higher; OR
  • National Qualification at SCQF level 6 in a related subject; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
