    Learn the skills, knowledge and understanding to develop your career in the Travel and Tourism Industry. You'll gain the skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality customer service and enhance your own employability.

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • One Higher at Grade C or above (such as English, Modern Studies, Languages, Business Management, Geography or History) AND three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English; OR
    • NC/NQ in a related subject (minimum of 13 credits at SCQF level 6 which must include Marketing in Travel & Tourism: An Introduction and Travel and Tourism in the UK) (subject to review). 
    • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

    You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area.  Where COVID restrictions are in place we will invite you to either a video meeting, telephone conference call or make an offer based on your application form.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.

    Continuing Study

    On successful completion of this course, you can apply for year two of our HND programme. You will need to achieve all 14 credits to progress to year two.

    The course will be taught using a variety of different teaching methods such as:

    • Industry Visits.
    • Guest Speakers.

    Due to the current pandemic classes are online however this may change depending on advice from the Scottish Government and some classes may take place on campus.

    You will be assessed on an on-going basis using a variety of methods such as:

    • Closed Book assessments.
    • Reports.
    • Investigations.
    • Role Play.
