This course gives you the skills and knowledge required for making the first step into a career in administration in a business environment (please see the "What you Study" section, below, to find out more).

You'll be taught by highly qualified lecturers who have a wealth of experience within the industry. Assessments during the course are ongoing and involve theory and practical based elements.

After successful completion of the course, you'll be awarded an NC Administration. This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 5. For more information on the framework visit:

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Three National 4 qualifications and one National 5 qualification at Grade C or above in relevant* subjects; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience

* relevant subjects include English, Administration, Business Management, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Studies or a Science subject.

Additional selection requirements

  • You'll be invited to attend a group presentation and interview session.  The presentation will give you all of the information you need about the course, this will be followed on the same day by an individual interview where you can tell us why you're interested in this course and ask any specific questions related to your own application.

ESOL entry requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.
