Overview

This course gives you a strong foundation in contemporary jewellery design and manufacture. It’s an introduction to practical workshop skills where you'll learn to use a wide range of tools and machinery.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Two Standard Grades at Credit Level in art and design and English; OR
  • Two National 5 qualifications in art and design and English.

 

You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you'll get the opportunity to find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in the subject. At the interview, you'll be asked to provide examples of your art and design work.

You'll study:

  • Metal Forming.
  • Decorative Finishing.
  • Stone-setting.
  • Design for Jewellers.

 

After the course

Careers

Most of our successful students continue to further study. However, you may get a job in retail jewellery, or manufacturing jewellery, or even become self-employed.
