Overview

Offered in association with NEBOSH-accredited course provider G & A Wilson, the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is based on UK law and is essential for anyone working in or wanting to work in health and safety within the construction industry. The course covers the main legal requirements relating to health and safety in UK construction work, identification and control of construction workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge, allowing you to complete your day-to-day work more effectively and with confidence.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • No previous health and safety knowledge is required although it is advisable that candidates do have an understanding of the basic practical aspects of the construction industry.
  • You must have a good standard of written English.
  • NEBOSH recommends that candidates undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

What you study

The qualification is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately: 

  • Management of health and safety (NGC1).
  • Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities (NCC1).
  • Construction health and safety practical application (NCC2).

*Students who have already passed NGC1 as part of a previous NEBOSH qualification have 5 years to complete the qualification. The timeframe starts from the result declaration date of the first successful unit to complete the qualification.

Students will receive a unit certificate for each unit passed.  On successful completion of all units making up the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, the student will receive the overall Qualification Parchment.
