Overview
You'll develop creative and technical skills in printmaking, drawing, photography and digital design. This is a practical, project-based course that will allow you to explore a range of medium through demonstrations, tutorials and workshops.

Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Two National 4 qualifications in English and Art or Graphic Communication; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
Additional selection requirements
- You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area. Where COVID restrictions are in place we will invite you to either a video meeting, telephone conference call or make an offer based on your application form.
- You'll be asked to provide examples of your art, photography or design work.
ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.What you study
You’ll study:
- Traditional Printmaking (intaglio, screenprinting, collagraph and relief printing).
- Photography.
- Conventional Printing (digital and lithography printing).
- Drawing.
- Design.
- Artwork Preparation for Print.
- Portfolio and Presentation Skills.
- Life Drawing.
You'll also develop core skills in working with others, eg problem solving and communication.
After the course
Careers
The portfolio developed during this course can lead to HNC/HND courses in Printmaking or Art & Design.
