Overview
If you're interested in working with children or adults, this course is an ideal first qualification. A work placement is a key part of the course, giving you first-hand experience and encouraging you to reflect on your approach. You'll also learn the theoretical and practical skills required to stand you in good stead for a job in this field.

Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Three National 4 qualifications including English; OR
- Core Skill Communication at Intermediate 1 level, or Skills for Work, Early Education and Childcare Intermediate 1 or Intermediate 1 Care; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.-
