Overview

This course gives you a lively introduction to the areas of digital arts and animation and gives you the chance to develop a strong portfolio of work which will be suitable for applying to a wide range of higher art and design courses. You will be able to develop robust creative drawing, design and animation skills, as well as strengthening your analytical and organisational skills. By so doing you will be able to take the first steps towards an exciting career in the creative sector.

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an NQ qualification in Computer Art and Animation.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • National 5 Art and Design and National 5 English at Grade C or above; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

Additional selection requirements

  • You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject.
  • You’ll be asked to provide examples of your art and design work - Portfolio Guidance.

ESOL entry requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.
