Overview

NQ Computing (Level 6) is a broad, introductory level course covering a range of elements of the Computing Industry (please see the 'What you Study' section, below, to find out more). It is designed to prepare you for higher level study in information technology, web development, computing or technical support.

The course is delivered by highly qualified computing lecturers who have a wealth of experience within the industry.

The course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 6. For more information on the framework visit: www.scqf.org.uk/the-framework/.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English and Maths or Numeracy; OR 
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

After the course

Careers

You can expect to gain a position in computing after completing further study.

Continuing Study

Students can go on to study a Higher National level course. The most common are our HND Information Technology, or HNC/D Technical Support courses. Although you may be accepted onto other computing-related courses.
