Overview

This course is ideal if you're looking to pursue a career in the Construction Industry at a technical level.

It's perfect if you:

  • Have previously failed to achieve the results that demonstrate your full potential.
  • Are returning to learning after a break.

Offering specially designed, nationally validated SQA units, the course is taught by staff with real experience in the industry and a proven track record of bringing out the best in students. It offers a mix of craft and technical units, combined with theoretical and practical learning in both classrooms and workshops.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Two National 4 qualifications including English and Mathematics or a Science subject; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ESOL entry requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL Intermediate level 2 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher for HNC/D courses.

Continuing Study

Successful students will be eligible for direct entry to the NC in Built Environment programme. In turn, this feeds into the first year of any of our four construction-related HND programmes:

  • Architectural Technology.
  • Building Surveying.
  • Construction Management.
  • Quantity Surveying.

Successful students can also progress to other construction-related NC programmes at other colleges in Scotland.
