Overview

Our Introduction to Bakery course introduces students to the foundation skills, knowledge and expertise needed to work successfully in a professional bakery. The course provides an opportunity to study three SQA units at SCQF Level 4, namely - Craft Baking: An Introduction, Cake Decoration: An Introduction and Bread Making: An Introduction. These units will introduce you to the wonderful world of Bakery and will give you an opportunity to make a range of breads, cakes and pastries. There will be an opportunity to design and make novelty cakes, celebration cakes and individual cakes.  

This is a professional vocational programme and appropriate clothing must be worn. Yo will need to buy specialist equipment for use on the course.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • SCQF Level 3 in Numeracy & Communication
  • Food, Catering, Home Economics or Cake Decoration at SCQF level 3 or above.
