Overview
This course is for people on the autistic spectrum who want to increase their employment prospects. It is part of a partnership between City of Glasgow College, Glasgow City Council Supported Employment Services, Autism Network Scotland and the University of Strathclyde.
The course will run for one year from August to June, five days a week, Monday to Friday and will be based at the University of Strathclyde.
Students complete three work placements called rotations, each rotation lasts for 10 weeks. The rotations will develop skills across a range of settings including hospitality, catering, estates and support services. The working day will include classroom learning such as employability skills, job search and real-life work experiences for the full academic year.
You will be supported throughout the course by a college lecturer, a job coach and university staff. Autism Network Scotland will also offer impartial and reliable information about autism services across Scotland on resources and service providers.
