Overview

This course is a basic introduction to the equipment and techniques of studio photography, including portraiture and still life work.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

You don’t need any formal qualifications for this course, but you should have a good working knowledge of Digital SLR cameras. If you don’t have this knowledge, you should study the Photography: Camera Techniques course first.

What you study

You'll learn to:

  • Set up and operate studio lighting to photograph portraits and still life arrangements.
  • Develop the skills and confidence to work in a professional studio environment.

Additional Information

Materials

The college can provide some equipment however, we encourage you to bring your own DSLR camera.
For digital photography classes, it is recommended you bring a USB stick or a storage device.
