Enterprise Competition

This is a competition open to all City of Glasgow College students. Win a share of £16,000 of development funding for your business start-up, with training and support for your business.

Start-up Training Sessions

These sessions are designed to help you to submit to the final stage of the competition.

  • Final Session - Tuesday 17th April, 16:30 - 18:00: Drop in Session to help with final application.

Entry deadline has been extended to 12 noon on Friday 27th April 2018.

Entry Format

You'll be asked to submit:-

  • An application form which includes a link to a short video pitch and
  • A fully developed business plan.

Don’t forget to save the entry form once you’ve entered your details. It would be very helpful if you included your name in the file title.  The video pitch should run for no longer than a minute and is your chance to highlight the strengths of your application.  Please do not send video files.  You should use a web video service like Vimeo or Youtube.

Please submit your entry by email to innovation.comp@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk and ensure that your entry is acknowledged.

There is wide range of suitable business plans you could use.  A link to the Prince’s Trust is provided below but it is just one example.

A panel of judges will consider each application on merit and allocate the funds in response to the quality of each entry. This is grant funding, to support your idea or business, not a loan. Your challenge is to convince the judges your idea is a winner.

Judges will be drawn from Princes Trust, Scottish Enterprise, Young Enterprise Scotland/Bridge2 Business, Scottish Institute for Enterprise, and successful entrepreneurs.

Terms and conditions of the competition are available here.

Further business support through referrals, mentorship and £100 grant available from Bridge 2 Business. Contact Christina for more info: Christina.Christopoulou@yes.org.uk. You can also contact our Resident Entrepreneur, Fynn Elkington, at start@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk
