Award Winning Week for City Students’ Association

City of Glasgow College Students’ Association (CitySA) celebrate winning three awards in a row.

The team scooped the NUS Scotland Diversity Award for their All-Together-Different arts project that encouraged students to embrace different cultures, life experiences and identities.

They also won in two categories at the sparqs Student Engagement Awards:

  • College Impact ‘Student Partnership Agreement’ for the team’s approach through My Voice, their online suggestions platform; and
  • Engaging Diversely for the Make a Difference – Dynamic Learning Initiative.

Milea Leone, CitySA Student President, said:

“Winning these awards is a fantastic achievement and I am so pleased for our team whose hard work and tireless enthusiasm helps to ensure the best possible experience for our students.

"Our Student Partnership Agreement is a huge thing for the college because it shows a firm commitment from both staff and students to work together to create tangible change, improve quality and make a difference.”

College Impact was awarded for an initiative which had significant impact on enhancing the student learning experience; while Engaging Diversely recognised a clear commitment to developing student engagement activities reflective of the diversity of the student population.

The NUS Scotland Awards - which celebrate the excellent work Students’ Associations, officers and staff do across Scotland - were held on Monday 21 March and the sparqs Student Engagement Awards - themed under Student Engagement for All - took place at the end of its annual conference on Thursday 28 March.
