College closes until further notice

Following the outbreak and escalation of Coronavirus (COVID-19), City of Glasgow College has closed its twin site super campus and suspended all face to face teaching until further notice.

Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive of City of Glasgow College, said:

“Our focus is firmly on the health and wellbeing of all our staff and students and, following the advice set out by both UK and Scottish Governments, this was without doubt the right decision to make at this time.

“We are very much in unchartered waters and I am enormously grateful to our staff, Team City, who are quickly adapting to our change in circumstances, providing our students with guidance on continuing their studies, as they themselves settle into a new routine of home working.

“Adapting to a rapidly changing situation is not easy, but central to our role at this time is our continued support and reassurance for our students. Many are naturally very anxious, so it is important that contact with their lecturers and college-wide sources of information is maintained.

“We have been working hard to ensure that resources are in place to support the needs of staff, and we have measures in place to enable our students to complete their assessments at a distance and via online learning tools. We will do everything we can to make sure that students can progress to the next stage of their course.”

The college is providing regular updates on its social media accounts, as well as its website and student intranet. Students are advised to check these regularly.
