City of Glasgow College has won Training Institution of the Year at the Scottish Herald’s Look Awards.

Specialists from the hair and beauty industry graced the red carpet at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel on Sunday 15 May to celebrate the 2016 awards which recognise Scotland’s best talents across health, beauty, aesthetics and business.

Elspeth McCallum, industry academy head of the Leisure and Lifestyle Faculty at City of Glasgow College, said:

“We were delighted to receive this award as it recognises the tremendous hard work of our staff in preparing our students to be the best in their chosen career and making sure that their talents and skills are recognised by employers.

“Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and to the Herald for organising this fantastic showcase event.” 

Winners collected awards across 21 categories and new businesses were also recognised on the night with the Best Start-up award, which was sponsored by City of Glasgow College. The Singing Barber: Gentleman’s Club picked up the award for 2016 with a commendation being awarded to ONYX Salon.
