Financial competition encourages student creativity

The F&C Investment Trust Prize is back for a third year. The financial competition first launched in partnership with City of Glasgow College in 2019.

It’s an opportunity for students to showcase their financial understanding by submitting inventive ways to close the UK’s financial knowledge gap.

Students are challenged to tackle one of three questions on themes and issues that impact our society today and influence our future.

Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive at City of Glasgow College, said:

“Our college has won this competition for the last two years in a row so expectations are high for 2021.

“We are committed to equipping all our students with the core skills they need for the world of work. Being able to navigate the many challenges of the financial market place, alongside making good financial decisions are essential elements at the heart of our curriculum. I’m delighted that our successful partnership with F&C Investment Trust continues to benefit students today and in the future.”

Students can enter individually or in a team of up to five people. Judges are looking for creative entries in any digital form – video, essay, podcast, vlog or infographic.

The 2021 competition will have two prize winners. The winner from City of Glasgow College will receive a prize worth £1,000 for an individual entry, or split evenly for a group entry, with a maximum of five entrants per group, and £5,000 for their faculty. A winner will also be chosen from entries from universities across UK, with the same split of prizes.

Students can register to take part now. The deadline for entries is Monday, 8 February 2021.
