Frozen in Time: A Super College in Lockdown

City of Glasgow College’s Students’ Association (CitySA) are capturing moments from lockdown for posterity.

CitySA is creating a time capsule of positive stories and mementoes from staff and students that have helped them throughout lockdown and self-isolation.

Dylan Duff, Student President at City of Glasgow College, said:

“We thought it would be a good idea to create a time capsule of positive stories; quotes, art, poetry, music, photography, whatever is helping staff and students get through lockdown or self-isolation.

“We are gathering this material virtually and will place it into a physical time capsule once we are able to safely return to our college buildings.

“It will be a permanent reminder for future generations of City of Glasgow College students and staff of everything that was achieved during 2020, when normal life as we knew it was suspended.”

All staff and students at the college are encouraged to get involved. Submissions can be emailed to the Students’ Association, posted on social media channels using the hashtag, #SAFIT, or added to the time capsule on return to the college’s twin site super campus.

The college has buried time capsules at both its Riverside and City campus sites. Each marked a milestone in the development of the buildings, with their contents highlighting the history of the college, its growth and changes over the years.
