Modern apprentice event for employers

City of Glasgow College holds valuable information session for Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2020.

The event is for all employers wishing to develop their workforce and secure financial support to do so.

Offering practical support and advice, it takes place at the college’s City campus on Cathedral Street on Monday 2 March from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

Lisa McCarthy, Workforce Development Coordinator at City of Glasgow College, said:

“Apprenticeships are a recognised route into employment as more young people realise the benefits of gaining qualifications and work experience while getting paid.

“Our information event will give employers the chance to find out about the full range of programmes we offer at the college. They can also learn about the variety of financial incentives and support available, as well as the opportunities to train new employees or upskill existing staff.”

City of Glasgow College currently has 400 live Modern Apprenticeships across key industry sectors. These Include Business Administration, Social Services and Healthcare, Hairdressing and Barbering, Hospitality, Management, Maritime Occupations and Procurement.

The majority of modern apprenticeships contain an element of on and off-the-job training and assessment resulting in industry-recognised qualifications and practical workplace skills.
