Student Excellence on Show

The End of Year Exhibition at City of Glasgow College showcases a wealth of student talent and creativity.

This annual showcase by the Faculty of Creative Industries highlights a broad range of material which goes on show across the college’s inspirational City Campus, as well as external venues.

Faculty Director for Creative Industries, Sandra Gunn, said:

“The End of Year Exhibition is the culmination of a year's hard work, commitment and creative output by students. It celebrates the students’ individual achievements and offers the chance for family, friends and potential employers to see their work. It is also an ideal opportunity for our students to make valuable contacts within the creative sectors and for industry partners to meet future talent.”

For HND Interior Design student, Eilidh McCall, working towards the exhibition has been hugely beneficial:

"This is my second exhibition, which is a museum history design including technical drawings and visuals. I had to master a number of software packages such as Adobe and CAD and I've absolutely loved doing the work on the computer. It's given me other options to consider for the future which is exciting. Once I've completed my HND, my plan is to take a year out to gain some work experience and then go on to do a degree in a similar speciality."

The variety of work on show includes photography, jewellery, ceramics, fine art, graphics, digital media, illustration, display design, art glass, model making, interior design, product design, animation, applied arts, computer arts, and radio and television production. Acting & Performance students took to the stage at the Scottish Youth Festival with Road by Jim Cartwright; while HND Photography students once again held their show in Glasgow's Theatre Royal.

The End of Year Shows continue at City campus on Glasgow’s Cathedral Street from Tuesday 13 June until Friday 16 June. Click here for more information.
