This course offers an ideal preparation for work or entry to a higher-level software development course. Using a balance of theory and practice, you’ll learn the key concepts of software design and how to interpret programme specifications.

The 2012 Technology Insights Report from e-skills UK said: “The technical skills most often called for by employers are SQL, .NET (VB and C#) and Java.” Therefore, these are the programming languages we teach on the course.

The report also stated: “Through to 2020, software professionals show the highest forecast employment growth of all IT and telecoms occupations”.

So whether employment or progression to university is your aim, we'll give you the basic knowledge needed for this growing area of computing.
