Overview

This course will help you gain the practical experience, knowledge and qualification needed for a job in the Bakery Industry.

You'll have the opportunity to study and train for a career as a baker or cake decorator, with excellent career opportunities and progression routes - please see the "After the Course" section to find out more.  The course is delivered by highly qualified lecturers who have a wealth of experience within the Bakery Industry.

  • Access 3 or SCQF Level 3 in Numeracy & Communication and Food, or Cake Decoration.

The course is taught in a commercial bakery employing a wide range of practical activities. Related theory is delivered in a classroom environment and the use of online resources is adopted.

You will be assessed holistically with the main emphasis on the goods that you produce.
Written assessments reflect what has been delivered in the practical lessons.

A full set of protective clothing eg a hat, a white lab coat or chef`s jacket, an apron, comfortable shoes, a dish cloth and an oven cloth.
