HNC Creative Printmaking


About This Course: 

This course offers an opportunity to develop your creative talents allowing you to develop traditional and contemporary printmaking, drawing and digital skills. Various printmaking techniques and media are explored and supplemented with technical and creative skills in digital media, drawing, bookbinding and mixed media. 

This course combines practical skills with theoretical knowledge and is project based. It is delivered through a series of lectures, practical workshops and activities. You will produce a portfolio of work that will support entry to HND and Degree level courses.

This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level . For more information on the framework visit

Minimum Entry Requirements: 
  • Higher Art & Design and English at minimum Intermediate level 2; OR
  • Higher Art & Design and English at minimum National 5; OR
  • An NC/NQ qualification in print, design or equivalent SVQ; OR
  • Relevant experience.
Additional Selection Requirements: 
  • You will be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you will get the opportunity to find out more about the course and tell us why you are interested in this subject area.
  • At the interview you will be asked to provide examples of your art/photography/design work.
