Please Note:  This is a school college partnership course.  We can only accept online applications from Secondary School pupils in their Senior Phase.

This Foundation Apprenticeship is tailored to equip you with the real-world skills needed to succeed in financial services.

Through hands-on learning, industry-relevant teaching, and high-quality work experience, you will uncover the diverse institutions shaping the sector and understand its pivotal role in the economy.

From banking and investment management to insurance and financial analysis, you will delve into the various career paths and roles available within the industry.

Building your network and elevating your expertise, you'll collaborate with industry professionals during your work placement. 

Covering some of the common units of the Modern Apprenticeship framework, achieving this qualification will support you in developing your communication, customer service, and employability skills.

Attendance Pattern

  • Tuesday 9.30am – 4pm (College).
  • Thursday 9.30am – 4pm (Work placement).

Minimum entry requirements

This course would suit organised, logical and detail-orientated students.  

You must have achieved two National 5's including English. You should also be able to work towards a Higher qualification.

The Financial Services sector currently employs approximately 157,000 people in Scotland and is expected to continue to grow.  This course prepares learners by developing key employment skills such as customer care.

With further study, students can move into occupations including insurance, banking and business.

How the course is taught

This course benefits from a blend of classroom and work-based learning. This will include, project work, lecturer tutorials and group tasks. You will develop and apply your learning in practice with an employer during your work placement.
