British Sign Language Level 2
Overview
This course will enable candidates who have completed the BSL Level 1 Certificate in BSL (or equivalent) to develop an ability to communicate with deaf people in a range of familiar contexts by participating in longer and more open ended exchanges.
By the end of the course candidates should be able to: demonstrate grammatical principles clearly and correctly; demonstrate a range of vocabulary; convey information accurately and correctly; participate in BSL conversation without frequent repetition or misunderstanding; clearly understand a signed narrative; respond accurately to signed questions and to describe the content of a series of pictures using BSL.
Tutors will use role play to help students practise their language skills and considerable practise time is built in to facilitate full development of signing skills.
