  • Overview

    This course will give you an understanding of fundamental marketing theory. You will explore aspects of social media marketing, advertising, public relations and branding.

    This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the creative campaign process and you will have the opportunity to create and design communications campaigns for industry clients.

    At the end of the course, you will have a strong portfolio of examples to demonstrate your competence to employers and academic institutes.

    This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 6. 

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • Three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English; OR
    • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

    Continuing Study

    On successful completion of the course with all credits, you can progress onto HN awards in HNC Marketing Communications, HND Marketing or HND Advertising and Public Relations or other SQA awards.

    On successful completion of any of the above HN courses, you will be eligible to apply to several university degree courses and entry into year 1 – 3 depending on the university.
