Cailin Barber

I am a Design Practice student graduating in 2026. This year, I immersed myself in a wide range of creative disciplines, including collage, letterpress printing, ceramics, illustration, animation and more. After graduation, I am excited to focus on building my illustration portfolio while simultaneously advancing my ceramic practice. My long-term goal is to work as a freelance multidisciplinary designer specialising in illustration and ceramics. Colour, material exploration, and playful experimentation are central to my creative process. The photographs in my portfolio showcase both final outcomes and developmental work that best represent who I am as a designer.  

Exhibition Project Description 

My degree show centres on illustration practices and responds to the growing influence of digital technology. The final outcome is solution-driven; a cohesive brand identity for ‘spark’. The design includes a set of prompt cards to inspire activity, accompanied by a progress-tracking system. The project aims to encourage mindful technology use and reduce screen time among teenagers by offering engaging, analogue alternatives that promote curiosity, reflection, and play.
