COP 26 International Maritime Hub

COP26 International Maritime Hub

1st - 12th November

City of Glasgow College’s award-winning campus on the River Clyde will become the COP26 International Maritime Hub hosting a range of exclusive events highlighting UK maritime expertise. We are delighted to be hosting this in partnership with Maritime UK.

Our Riverside campus includes a state-of-the-art 360-degree shipping simulation suite and a modern working engine room. It opened its doors to students and staff in August 2015 and is home to 3,000 marine and engineering students.

This is an unrivalled opportunity for the global maritime sector to come together to discuss the shared response to the climate mission.  COP26 offers the chance to showcase the progress and ambition to net zero in the maritime sector and advance discussions on how industry and governments can collaborate to overcome challenges, move towards net zero and increase UK competitiveness in the global maritime market.

During the two weeks, the College will hold a seminar discussing the future of the maritime industry looking at the lifecycle of a ship to the skills required for the future generation seafarer.

Further details including the event programme will be shared shortly.
