Events with Gary Maclean

Gary Maclean is Executive Chef at the college and the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals. He was appointed Scotland's first National Chef by the Scottish Government to promote Scotland as a Good Food Nation. In this role, Gary celebrates the rich larder of produce that Scotland has available and advocates the use of locally sourced, healthy, sustainable and affordable food.

Gary hosts a range of events at the college which you can find out about below.  We've also published some of Gary's recipes for you to try at home.

We have a whole series of events planned for 2019/20 with Gary.

Saturday Cook School

You will spend the day with Gary and a small group of Cook School guests in the state of the art kitchens cooking your meal. Gary will demonstrate a three-course meal which you will then cook and sit down and enjoy with a glass of wine.  This is suitable for all abilities as there will be plenty of help and support from Gary throughout the day.

Demos

These are fun evenings where Gary will demonstrate some of his favourite dishes alongside questions from the audience and stories from Gary about his time on MasterChef and his culinary travels.  The Demos will start at 6.30pm with drinks and a selection of canapés for guests.

  • Thurs 5th Dec 2019  - Christmas Demo (£25).
  • Thurs 5th March 2020 (£25).

Dinner

Gary, helped by some chef friends, will cook a four-course meal for guests who will enjoy a sit-down meal in our on-site restaurant, Scholars.

  • Thurs 13th Feb 2020 - Valentines Dinner (£60).
  • Thurs 14th May 2020 (£60).
