Our Structure & Academic Faculties
City of Glasgow College was formed in September 2010 through the merger of Central College, Glasgow Metropolitan College, and the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
By combining decades of educational expertise from these original colleges, we created a single, unified institution with a powerful vision for the future of tertiary education in Scotland. Today, we are one of the largest colleges in the UK, offering a choice of thousands of courses across further and higher education.
We provide a modern, forward-thinking learning environment designed to help our students develop the practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen careers. Our focus is entirely on delivering industry-relevant training, bridging skills gaps, and offering flexible study options across a massive variety of subjects.
Our Twin-Site Super Campuses
To give our students the best possible preparation for the workplace, our learning takes place across two world-class, purpose-built campuses in the heart of the city:
- City Campus: Located on Cathedral Street in Glasgow city centre, this award-winning campus features state-of-the-art facilities like an aircraft training cabin, professional TV and radio studios, and commercial training kitchens and bakeries.
- Riverside Campus: Situated right on the banks of the River Clyde, this campus is a globally recognized excellence hub for engineering, science, and international maritime training, featuring advanced ship simulators and an operational engine room.
By combining decades of educational expertise from these original colleges, we created a single, unified institution with a powerful vision for the future of tertiary education in Scotland.
