Leah Brown
I am a Glasgow‑based interior designer emerging into the industry. With experience as a Design Assistant and an interest in abstract styles, my approach blends functionality, thoughtful design, and materiality to create spaces that have purpose and visual impact. I often incorporate biophilic and sensory design principles, as I’m passionate about creating emotionally responsive spaces. I aim to merge creativity with practicality, creating interiors that are unique and human-centred.Â
Project DescriptionÂ
This project envisions a supportive, non‑clinical environment designed to reduce the emotional impact of long waiting periods for medical care. It offers users clarity, reassurance, and stability through thoughtful design and a structured spatial experience. The environment is calm and domestic in scale, with private rooms for emotional guidance, an information hub that provides reliable, comprehensible updates, and planning stations equipped with biofeedback tools that help users regain a sense of control. A low‑sensory studio supports symptom‑management sessions, while nature‑integrated areas and community spaces foster calm, grounding, and social connection. Together, these elements form a preventative, accessible setting that supports wellbeing and reduces distress throughout the healthcare waiting period.Â
