Luckas Suchy
(b. 1983, KoĹĄice, Slovakia) I am an abstract street art expressionist multidisciplinary designer currently based in Glasgow. I hold an HND in Art & Design, and my practice merges expressive, gestural technique with urban influences to create bold, narrative-driven works. My solo exhibition at Cass Art Glasgow marked my emergence on the local scene, followed by participation in Storytellers at Glue Factory, and several exhibitions at the Rowan Gallery. I received second place in the Higher Education Art category by Abacus Creative and completed a work placement with Letterpress printing company Officina Tipografica located in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. Upcoming exhibition is participation in the Florence Contemporary gallery - Icons.Â
Project DescriptionÂ
Propaganda
This project investigates the enduring power of propaganda in shaping modern society, focusing on how visual communication continues to influence public perception. By reinterpreting a historical propaganda poster, the work reframes familiar symbols and persuasive design strategies to comment on contemporary social, political, and cultural issues. The interactive mural/collage will subvert key elements from the original poster using contrast, disruption, and re-contextualisation to challenge audience assumptions and prompt critical reflection on current world events. Through its bold imagery and intentional provocation, the piece aims to spark dialogue about manipulation, media influence, and the formation of public opinion. By merging historical reference with presentâday concerns, the final outcome becomes an engaging and thoughtâprovoking exploration of how propaganda evolves and how its visual tactics continue to shape the way we see the world.Â
